A non art related post.
Thought I would jot down some thoughts about a recent visit to Shanghai.
Venues are always fleeting and it's usually difficult to keep track of things when coming back to the town every few years. Basically it seems like the whole city changes, here's what I have for early 2017.
1. All you can eat Japanese for 350 yuan per person at YUZU, 46/f Hangseng Bank Tower, 1000 Lujiazui Ring Rd, Shanghai, Sh 200120, CN. This included sashimi. It's just insane (and I guess partially ashamed) to rack up a 10,000 yuan bill (approx $2000) with six people. I doubt this kind of deal would be around for long.
2. Yu Yin Tang - Punk music in Shanghai. Saw Cloud Nothings rip it that particular night. If you can't stand a life wasted eating, staring at the phone and visiting department stores go see some live music.
3. Qibao small town, a quaint scenic town made that's extremely busy on the weekend with locals although there was some great food there. Recommended: smelly tofu vendors, and a vendor near the door cooking large slabs of marinated squid.
Not recommended:
Disney World, bit of a pain in the arse to wait min 90 mins for any ride.
